This week, POTUS 47 ordered the National Guard be deployed to Washington, D.C. to get the violent crime lowered. In listening to his speech when this was ordered, one would surmise that D.C. was the worst of the worst in regard to violent crime. The purpose of this letter is not to debate whether this order was warranted or necessary, but to show the irony involved with the order.
Four and one-half years ago, 1,500 people marched to the Capitol Building at the urging of POTUS 45. During a span of several hours, that group of people vandalized a federal building, attacked members of the Capitol Police Deptartment, ransacked Congress members’ offices, defecated in the hallways and offices, and caused the deaths of police officers.
POTUS 45 was urged to call in the National Guard to quell the violence and vandalism but, instead, reportedly watched the actions of the insurrectionists on TV and did nothing to remedy the situation.
Immediately after being re-elected as POTUS 47, he issued pardons for the 1,500 people who were involved in the ordeal and labeled them as “patriots” for their actions.
This is ironic in one sense, but moreover, the perfect definition of “hypocrisy.” To borrow a quote from the movie Tombstone, it would appear “his hypocrisy knows no bounds.”
